Brush materials

Thanks to the versatility of our high-quality brush materials,
we know how to
develop a suitable brush for every application.

Filling materials

Fibers come in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes. Based on your application, working conditions and desired brushing effect, we choose the material type, characteristic properties (anti-static, wax coating, etc.), color, shape and Length of the fiber.

Resistance

The environment in which the brush is used is very decisive for the choice of fiber. Consider, for example, temperature resistance, acid resistance, alkaline resistance, chemical resistance, moisture resistance, resilience, speed and brush pressure.

Food Safety

The fibers used by KOTI in contact with food comply with European food safety regulations and requirements. A safe production process protects both consumer health and your brand reputation.

Sustainability

At KOTI, we do creative recycling. During the production process, we trim the bristles to the desired Length for the customer’s application. The remaining waste, the small pieces that are trimmed off, we give new life by utilizing them for short-haired brushes.

Fiber type Advantages
Nylon 6.6 Mainly used in industrial applications, it offers excellent resistance to heat and abrasion.
Nylon 6.12 More resilient than Nylon 6.6 and does not absorb moisture.
Rilsan Very hard-wearing and does not absorb moisture.
Polypropylene (PP) Resistant to acids and does not absorb moisture, but has lower abrasion resistance compared to Nylon 6.6 and 6.12.
Polyester (PBT) Offers very good heat and abrasion resistance, does not absorb moisture and is certified for food products.
Abrasive nylon Ideal for removing delicate burrs, polishing and obtaining a satin finish.
Polyethylene Has good chemical resistance and maintains higher stiffness when wet compared to Nylon.
Fiber type Advantages
Metal Filling Material Steel (high-strength steel, brass steel, stainless steel, hardened steel), brass and bronze.
Steel For removing carbon and burrs, highly aggressive Filling material.
Brass Polishing, satin finish, very good explosion-proof electrical conductivity (slightly lower than that of bronze).
Stainless steel Polishing, satin finish, very good anti-static electrical conductivity, for humid environments.
Brass-plated steel High tensile strength, long life, deburring.
Brass-coated steel wire Excellent, long life, deburring.
Phosphor bronze High electrical conductivity, surface treatment of wood and metals and for spark-free machining.
Fiber type Advantages
Horse hair Flexible for light brushing (e.g., for cleaning plastic strips).
Goat hair Very soft and fine Filling material for delicate work.
Pig bristles Stiffer than horsehair.
Goose Feather Patina of wooden furniture after polishing.
Ostrich feather Very soft material, main application: dust removal and polishing of car bodies.
Tampico Stiffer than Pig bristles, for polishing metal with polishing product
Fiber type Advantages
WYTEX conducting nylon Synthetic fiber, high electrical conductivity.
HT Nylon Heat resistant up to 150°C
Pekalon Synthetic fiber, high heat resistance (up to 180-200°C).
PEEK Synthetic fiber high heat resistance (up to 250°C)
Fiberglass Very high heat resistance, high elasticity, good resilience (also used in cardboard industry).
Carbon Very high electrical conductivity, very fragile material.
FRH Self-extinguishing nylon fiber, no emission of toxic gases on contact with flames, used in areas where safety is a top priority (public transportation).

core materials

We also determine the properties of the core based on your application and desired result, for example, the type of material, color, shape and resistance. Thanks to our different materials, we are even better able to meet your needs.

A customised core

Both the material and the shape of the core determine your application. In our development and testing environment, we design and test brushes with special shapes. We create these special shapes with 3D printers and custom-made molds. This is how we know how to design and produce a brush that fits your needs.
